These are so old... I didn't think they were that funny the first time I saw them. Okay, one of the things I liked about ABS is that it offered NEW things that often WEREN'T seen on other sites, or if they were, were here first!

I've seen these videos before... I appreciate the effort of trying to bring in new exciting things to the front page, really I do, but this isn't new or exciting.

Not well connected to the film maker world? Eh, I can think of two film makers that are part of your forum off the top of my head, one of them being NitWitt. Either of them probably have connections as well, so at least their submitted content would be NEW. Perhaps your connections are better than you think, you just don't realize it.

And perhaps with this update those individuals might start submitting their film stuff to ABS, now they know that you're hosting more video along with Flash. I appreciate you making the invitation at least.

Yikes. I cringed when I noticed I was about to post something from 2006, but went ahead with it anyways.
Maybe I should have gone with my gut.

Yeah, I'd seen these before, but I still enjoyed them.

Why don't you just put up a Thread asking people if they have connections/are filmmakers? That should be easy and quick.

Sometimes you've got to go with your gut, sometimes you've got to take chances to see what happens. I know you're trying new things out, and I'm sure some peeps hadn't seen it before but... I'm really afraid of abs becoming another carbon copy of other sites. The things I like best is that ABS is unique, and original, and a good chunk of the media is home grown by our own members. I hope AlbinoBlacksheep doesn't change in that regard.

I kind of feel like with more updates (I thought I saw every day) you are trying to give users a reason to come back more often, at least that's what I'd do if I had a site. I wonder if there are other strategies to do this? I'll be brainstorming...

Working on a big one called Arrow right now, but that may not be released for a year or two o.O

(Also I'm NOT digging the new blue background. And take that valentine's sheep down for God's sake. )

Well Ab, let me paraphrase the OP here:

MAYBE YOU SHOULD f**kING KILL YOURSELF! YOUR SITE WAS GREAT AND EDGY, but now, its just OLD and SUCKS!

To the OP:

Shut your f**king pie hole, negro!

Don't you know AB is also about kicking the old school to the youngbloods?

Just because its old doesn't mean its bad, or nor relevant... do you realize how many children born in Afrika and India and Pakistan have not seen The Demented Cartoon Movie?

So zeeky boogie doog your ass off a short pier!

Yeah, I guess I'm just silly in suggesting that new home grown things are better and we should just rehash the same thing that's already been on other sites because it's popular. It works there, why not here, right? [/sarcasm]

I don't mind stuff like the Demented Cartoon Movie coming back, I'm not sure but I think ABS had dibs on that when it first came out. (If not, it does now as most pages that mention it link back to the version hosted on ABS) I know Ddautta is old too, but I remember seeing it on ABS when the first one came out, being able to see them all together now that the set is complete is kind of nice.

It's a lot like banging a chick. If she's yours from the beginning then it's awesome when you two rock out, and totally fine if you want to bang her in the future... But if she really gets around it's not quite so special anymore. If you prefer sloppy seconds, then to each his own.

Yeah, Demented Cartoon's official home is on ABS, which I am very proud of. It was probably one of the first famous animations homegrown from ABS since it is from 2001.

It would be nice to post new home grown stuff every day - every hour even, but if you take a look at the submissions thread... not everything is going to be great and great often. I wish it were possible as much as any ABS visitor because I love watching animations too.

Next couple updates will be homegrown. It's just much to expect that the best Flash artists of ABS make something great so often. For example, Andrew Kepple is working on Mindy 2 for ABS, but it's a long project requiring voices from other people, so it will be a while. R. Wappin is working on a Flash music video, but has school work to do before he can get to it. Professor Fate will one day finish Bobbing for Apples, but it cannot be rushed. I think he's redoing it from scratch. He's also working on Ill Fate 2 which is about halfway complete. Great things are coming, but "you can't rush greatness", as they say.

I could use your help, Saila, to get former regular submitters out of their writer's block and out of their slumps. Some people need a push, and it will take members of the ABS community to make that push. It don't think it sounds nice coming from me.
I would love to see more from ryoshenron, for example.

I had contacted a Flash artist that suddenly stopped posting on ABS after saying he loved submitting here. Got an email back a week later about how he's been on anti-depressants and the terrible things that happened in his life.

When an artist posts on ABS something good they will get fans and praise. It's the best motivator, but there's other things in life these animators need to do (school, for example), and responsibilities come before ego boosts.

So, feel free to be an ambassador of ABS, keeping current ABS members motivated and maybe even recruit some new ones to the site (while I feel would be too spammy to do myself). If a good animation is on we-just-post-every-hijacked-video.com, the artist should really be told to join ABS and have their stuff posted legitimately, with their own non-automated directory if they create enough for one.
