Hello one and all! I am pleased to open the Second Annual Tournament of Flash Artists, 2008!!

Rules
The Tournament of Flash Artists is a competition in which flash artists from the Albino Blacksheep community compete head-to-head in themed, timed, and judged rounds to decide the ultimate Champion of Flash Artists. The Champion recieves a prize that is to be determined by donations. (See Below)

Flash Artists are entered into the competition through nominations. If the number of competitors is higher than eight, then the tournament will open with an "Open Round", which involves all artists competing against each other for the top 8 scores. Once the open round has ended, the tournament continues with 3 additional rounds in which contenders will be randomly matched up to see which artist can create a better animation. The brackets will look similar to this:


Nominations
Anyone can make a nomination for any flash artist, including nominating themselves. Once nominated, an artist MUST reply in this thread OR Personal Message me to accept or reject their nomination. No response from an artist by the end of nominations automatically rejects their nomination.
Nominations will END on Saturday, May 24 at 12:00 Midnight, Eastern Time!! At that time, the Open Round will BEGIN.

Judging
Judging will be done in 5 different categories, each on a scale of 1 to 10. The total possible points from a single judge is 50 points, making a total possible 250 points from the 5 judges that will be participating. Judging remains unchanged through each round.

The judges are:

• NitWitt (myself)
• SliceDr
• Thor, Clod of Blunders
• symphybunny (not on ABS Forums)
• kitkat (not on ABS Forums)

The five categories being judged will be:

• Artwork / Design
• Animation
• Originality
• Entertainment
• Flow

(Note: Audio will only be judged as parts of entertainment and originality)
Prizes
Ah, here's the exciting part! Prizes are to be determined by donations to the competition. The Champion will recieve the largest prize, while the runner-up will recieve a smaller prize (Note: This may only happen if there is enough prizes donated -- Otherwise, the Champion will recieve all prizes).

I will be donating $50 to the prize pool for this year's tournament. Anyone else interested in furthering the artistic animation community of ABS must mention their donation in THIS THREAD, or PM your donation to me.
I will work out logistics with donators privately.

I've had a change of heart. Don't think I'm quite there yet. Not ready to be actually judged. Might do some just for practice but yeah not joining this year. Expect me next year!

BUT...

...know this: If the competition ends before the start of June, you can count on me withdrawing my acceptance. I have an impossible amount of animation to get done for a big deadline "at the end of May" and any time spent animating anything else (apart from work. Booo) would be uninspired, guilt-ridden, and thus not worth it. I'm probably going to miss that big deadline, and I would not want to be able to (partially) blame that particular failure on TOFA.
