Well, I can honestly say I didn't expect even half of the turn out, hype, and donations that were given in this contest, and I thank every single person who contributed to make the first Tournament of Flash Artists a gigantic success.

Mumbo jumbo out of the way, it's time to announce the winner!
The Champion of Flash Artists is....

Congratulations to Wappin for being the champion of the first annual TOFA!
As the grand prize, he will recieve $60, an ABS T-Shirt, and a custom title.

I can recruit next time by posting a message on the main page of ABS.  We did this through the forums and PMs, and the turnout was full enough for 4 rounds.

That'd be awesome. I'm thinking for the first round next time to be a free for all, with the highest 16 (or even 32?) scorers going on to the matchups, so numbers shouldn't be a problem!

Also, more understandable topics.

Deciding on topics was probably the most difficult part about this entire thing, so I could use any feedback you've got on them. We tried as hard as we could to make topics that were open to creativity and individuality, while not favoring any particular kind of flash artist.
Slice Dr helps with the themes, and he tells me that making the topics any more specific would hinder the creativity and all the animations would come out the same.

So what do you all think? More specific, more vague, something else? Let me know.

I really liked your topics actually. I preferred them to the super specific rules of the Flash devo's.

I just hope next summer my computer will not crash. Although, what are the chances of me winning? Oh, and btw, if you are going to recruit by putting a message on the front page, you should ask for a peice of their BEST animation (like a essay before you go to a college) so we know we wont be versing noobies for like, 6 rounds. No offence Noobies out there.
