Outline [Standard] Linear+ The Tournament of Flash Artists (TOFA), Rules / Nominations / Donations

Hello one and all! Flash Developers gather as we open this first annual Tournament of Flash Artists!!


The Contest

1. Eight (8) Flash Developers will be chosen through the process of Nomination. Once nominated, a developer can choose to accept or decline the nomination into the contest. If there are Sixteen or more nominations accepted, the tournament will begin with sixteen contestants.
2. Developers will be competing one versus one for each round, the winner of each pairing progressing onward to the next round.
3. Each round will contain its own seperate set of rules and regulations (Theme), with the rules for each progressing round becoming more difficult than the last. The layout will look like this:
   
4. The winner will recieve a prize. (To be determined - Read on)

The Prize
Personally I will donate to the prize, my estimate is $20 or more from myself. Anyone willing to further the welfare of ABS Flash Developers by donating either cash or a different prize, please mention it in this thread or PM me your idea. If enough prizes are pooled together, there may be a runner's up prize awarded as well.
Once this thread closes, the contest will officially begin and the prize(s) officially decided.

Nominations
Please use this thread to nominate anyone you feel is an excellent or good animator. You might want to let them know as well, so that they can accept or reject their nomination.

• Developers must acknowledge their position in this thread.
• No response from a nomination counts as a rejection.
• You may nominate yourself to compete.
• You may nominate as many people as you think are good artists not yet mentioned.
• Once nominations have been made, if the number of nominations is higher than eight, (and below sixteen; and also if above sixteen), a poll will open to rule out the excess number of people.

Please let me know if there are any tweeks that need to made in the contest!

I think a nomination should be seconded for it to be valid. But then some good animators might be left out if they aren't seconded on accident.

I'm afraid that we're going to leave someone out who deserves to be in the contest, like I just remembered Amaaxla (who I now nominate if I am allowed to nominate a second person). Won't it be fine to let whoever wants to enter? If they don't actually deserve to be in the competition, they'll just be weeded out in the first or second rounds. That's the beauty of a tournament.

in the voting poll feature, is one able to make it so one can do multiple votes, because then, you could make a big list of people that want to do it, and who are nominated, and accept. and then vote for the top eight, i think that could work, if its possible.

If someone is not voted into the top 8 can't it hinder their chances to make something that absolutely surprises people?

I'm just playing devils advocate here, I am perfectly fine with all of the rules at the moment.
