Listening to the radio yesterday I heard that Aquafina and other major bottled water companies had been revealed about there water sources. Aquafina which many people had believed, along with me, that it came from a aquifer. Actually it is filtered tap water. As I understand it Aquafina is forced to change their name to P.W.S., Public Water Source. Normally I wouldn’t of cared about this but my father works for Budweiser and Pepsi since Pepsi is the distributor of Aquafina it drew my attention. Many bottled water companies and such have been "Coming out of the closet" about were there water comes from. Many people don't believe this is a big deal and some do. Debate.

P.S. if you want to find good none tap water try Chippewa.

Not really a choice, I cant really choose not to use gas in my car. You have to have lots of money to buy alternative fueled cars, but if you have that much money your not gonna care about gas prices. The system is broken...

I'll just add to the derailment quickly.
The only way things will change is when the people who can afford the new technology invest in it. As more people invest in clean-energy companies and products, they will be able to develop more cost-effective methods of production and bring down the prices of their technology(ies?).
On topic, I only buy bottled water if i'm out somewhere and need one (ONE!) bottle to carry around with me. I refill them until they start to get crappy and dirty, then I get a new one.

Screw petroleum, its polluting and causes wars, for the amount of technology we have we should be embarrsed to use it! Ill be happy when its all gone...

If it's all gone it means we used it all. Which means it caused all the pollution and wars you seem to be afraid of. So your situation is awfully peculiar now isn't it.

The way I see it bottled water is a scam all together (unless if in extreme situation such as you don't have clean water at all or something of relevant reasoning). Why do I see bottled water as a scam? Because its water... in a bottle... sold for $1.50 when you could just as easily turn on a tap or a hose (if need be) or something else. Yeah, the water bill will accumulate but nowhere near as much as if you constantly bought bottled water. Personally, I rarely drink water so either way it makes no major difference to me.

Aquafina never claimed to be mineral or spring wate, it's just that people make untrue assumptions about it, so i don't really see any problem .

Bottled water does not have the same filtration and treatment system that your municipal water supply has. Bottled water has been proven to contain more pollutants and impurities than tap water. Plus, bottled water is awful for the environment; it takes water out of one watershed and deposits it in another, being moved by the use of fossil fuels. Tap water is cheaper and healthier, and it was there all along!

When traces of blood begin to mark your trail you'll see something, maybe. Probably not." Edward Abbey

I buy those gigantic fallout-shelter-size boxes of bottled water... The bottles are recyclable, and I've gotten used to it since my house had no running water for a few months last year...

You guys must have missed the fiasco that happened here.

Traditionally, bottled water in the UK automatically implied that it was spring water. So when Coca Cola came on the scene with Dasani, they conveniently forgot to tell anyone that they were actually bottling tap water. In London, which has some of the most recycled water in Britain. Yummy.

When this was discovered, there was general outrage at the big multinational company pulling veils over the eyes of the populace. The stinker? Two weeks later Coca Cola was forced to recall all of their Dasani since they had somehow managed to poison clean London tap water with a carcinogen.

The brand has not reappeared since.

Are you sure they pulled Dasani completely or just in Europe? I think they still sell it in America...

In the US it's also typically assumed that because the water has been bottled, the source is something special that isn't just tap water, usually implied by mountains or springs on the labels. The problem here is that making assumptions is stupid, because then you're shocked to discover you had no idea what you were drinking the entire time because you didn't bother reading the label. It's more of people deceiving themselves than being deceived by companies.

I don't really see the point in buying bottled water.
I'm quite content with my tap water.

Just FYI

Quote Source

The only reason I like bottled water more then my tap (we have a well, so not exactly "Tap") water is because its easier to chill, and warmish-cool water is nothing compared to cold, icy, water. Im talking about drinking straight from the tap here. However, BUYING bottled water is pretty stupid for reasons already mentioned.

Its funny that the body cannot properly process really cold water, it has to be warmed up my your insides first...

Also, black chics on white dicks are awesome...

Well water absorbs minerals from the ground, therefore if it was stirred then filtered, that would keep the minerals while discharging the dirt...

I really, really enjoyed reading the "Screw Petroleum! I hope we DO run out of it!" argument in defense of the overuse of plastics (petrochemical-based) products. I wish I could've been the first one to reply to it...

I was reluctant at first, but on the whole, this forum is absolutely ADORABLE!!!

Personally, I wish bottled water consumption had remained limited to athletes (acceptable, in my opinion) and Hollywood dipshits (less so). This was not possible, because so many people admire athletes and/or Hollywood diphits.

I'm not sure how being athletic factors into what kind of water you can or cannot consume, do you mean with the added minerals and what not?

For example: I think that having to leave the field to get a drink from the lockerroom sink isn't realistic for pro football players. Same with long distance runners.

Obviously, they could have bottles filled with tap water (some do), but as you rightly assumed, I was also considering the beneficial additives (most notably sodium, calcium, chloride, and sometimes potassium - chemicals that replenish human electrolyte levels) that all factory bottled water used to contain. Since the mass-production of the past 15 years or so, bottled water with added minerals is still around, but it's comparitively rare.
